About Fretboardia

Fretboardia is not an ordinary guitar blog. It is special because it is brought to you not by a professional, but a fellow learner.

My name is Michael. I started playing guitar when I was about 14 years old (that is about 25 years ago). When I was learning to play guitar, most of my learning was unsupervised and fairly chaotic. There was no Youtube, and not that many guitar courses were available to me.

Now I am almost 40. I became smarter wiser, so I am taking my guitar practice much more seriously. I have family, full-time job, and other commitments. I do not have that much free time, so I am striving to achieve the most of my practice.

With years of playing and teaching guitar to others I figured out a way to learn guitar in a more systematic and efficient manner. I am glad to share my finding with you here.

I am applying same principles I learned to ukulele as well.

This blog is best for beginning guitar students but more advanced students might find some useful exercises and ideas here too.

Occasionally, I will share with you exercises I find beneficial, as well as my practice routines, my progress, findings, and musings.

Feel free to drop me a line if you have any feedback or questions!

Cheers,

Mike
